October Conference - G-Force

Here's some pics from the last conference. It's called the 'g-force' conference where we talked about conflict & how to deal it the biblical way.

It's called 'g-force' due to the 4 steps of handling a conflict:
1. Glorify God
2. Get the log out of your eyes
3. Gently restore
4. Go & reconcile

We learned to see conflict from a different prospective. Conflict is not something we can avoid since everyone is made uniquely, therefore we have something in us that others do not have & thus the conflict. But conflicts can be handled in a different way. These are the 4 guideline to help us resolve the conflict. Though it's not easy to apply these but it definitely helps. Not only in restoring our relationship but also help us to be a testimony for God.

Here's some of the pictures:

Brenda, the only Nigerian gal that joined us that Autumn, a cool guest speaker - Darryl Brookes, and of course, the group picture!!

I Miss My Blog!
Yup yup. I know, I know. It's been a long long time since I updated my blog. I had to admit I got so carried away with so many things that I abandoned this little site here. I was surprised there's actually someone reading my blog beside mom! (Ma, you've got company!)

Ok. Back to updates on my current situation. Classes are fine. Just finished Catastrophe cycle. Will be starting Social Medicine today. I have no idea what are we gonna study about. I did enjoy Catastrophe tho. Considering Ukr was in Soviet Union, there's a lot of surprising issues. We get to learn 1st aid during war, earthquake, flood, Tsunami & etc. But what interest me most is the nuclear explosion in Chenobyl in 1986. Apparently 8000 died due to the Communist ruling since they do not have a choice but ordered to rush in to built protective barriers. I kinda pity the soldiers but without them we might be half dead or non-existence.

Neway. That was last week's topic. Wonder what's on schedule for this week. Hmm...

Home Sweet Home
There's nothing better than being home. Though there's a lot of things to experience and to learn in life, being home just gives me the satisfaction of being with parents. It's been a long 10 months, as it was a tough year but i dun expect the next 3 to be better since we need to get ready to be a real doctor. As for now, being in hospital for attachment does give me a lil more pressure and encouragement to take whatever i do seriously. People trust and rely on us to fix them without looking at our previous experiences or education. A lot of them were either too poor or too old to pay attention. To them, a person in a white suit SHOULD be very knowledgeable, SHOULD know everything about what they are experiencing and SHOULD be able to heal them. A lot of time, they are either left in the old folks' home or left unwanted by the family.

For me, this past week is a new experience, seeing what REAL doctors do. Though all i did was following them around, but that's really tiring for me. I wonder what i'm gonna do when it's my turn to start seeing patients and treating them. As for now, i'm just trying to learn more and prepare myself mentally for the future. At the same time, enjoy myself before i'm too busy to do the things i planned to do when i graduate.
